Mint has been in the CSA box for the last couple of weeks and I love it. I think mint adds a really cool refreshing quality to beverages. I've been adding it to my tea water and doing my absolute favorite mint trick: adding it to lemonade. If you've never had mint in your citrus beverages, you've been missing out.

I muddle the mint (you can use a wooden spoon to beat it up a bit).

I add a wedge of lemon for good measure.

Add, ice then lemonade. Either make your own, or use Simply Lemonade which is made with water, lemons and sugar. Garnish if you are feeling fancy.
I think I know what I'm going to do with the mint from my share...Nice. I wonder how a touch of mint would go with the Watermelon Lemonade Smitten Kitchen makes? Things that make you go hmmmm ;-)
ReplyDeleteI love mint in my watermelon margaritas and I love mint in my lemonade, so I would bet that would be a fantastic combination. I need to re look up that recipe. I think I remember checking it out last year. Love Smitten Kitchen. Total food porn.
